We feel the way we farm is sustainable and one of the answers to our farm problem, and we can’t wait to show you how it all works. No, we don’t have a pumpkin patch or a haunted forest – just a tour of a farm that seems to go on forever – a farm that feeds our animals and our souls every day, and we’d love to experience it with you. We feel passionate about sharing our way of farming with you so you will know exactly where your food comes from.
Every spring, summer, and fall we offer hayrides and farm tours – one mile down the trail, and up the hill to see how we raise our chickens in a pasture and a screened-in porch complete with lawn chairs. These are happy chickens! It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen! You’ll see our “chicken tractors” (mobile chicken coops) and our eggmobile that follows the cows in the pastures.
Next, we’ll ride past and maybe even pet the grazing cows (if they’re close enough) and see fields of alfalfa (cow heaven). You’ll also see our non-gmo grain and open-pollinated corn fields which we grind up for our chicken feed. If you are what you eat, then we want to know what our chickens are eating. Next, we’ll go through the marsh, yes, I said through – and if you’re feeling adventurous, we can do the loop through the woods in the back 40. It’s so beautiful! And, if you like, we’ll go past five acres of flowers and veggies that our friends, Lee and Mishy plant. It’s crazy beautiful!
If you have a group of friends or family members and you want to do a private farm tour, we can do that too. Just give us a call or shoot us an email and we’ll get you on the schedule.
The cost for the hayride/farm tour is $7 per adult. Kids 5 and under are $5 and kids 3 and under are free.
There’s too much facebook and not enough faces. It’s the way it oughta be!
Hope to see you soon!
